Show Me More …….Christmas Country French Home Tour

Create a beautiful mantel with beautiful faux green garlands and everyday hone decor!

Kathy shows off her finished Christmas Country French Mantel

Kathy uses her Rooster and candle sticks to compliment her Santa painting and Santa figurines. Add in a group of trees and faux mix of green garlands and you can smell the pine and cedar, well almost! Kathy suggests adding fresh greenery sprigs and sprays when you are celebrating or having a party to foil the eye!

Kathy places a Santa painting to start her Country French Christmas mantel!

Placing a Santa painting or holiday cheer sentiment is a great start.

A permanent molly placed into the mortar secures the painting.

Combining mixed pine garland and a cedar garland creates a natural look.

Kathy uses a mixed pine garland combined with a cedar garland to create a natural look. Garlands are traditionally 9' long. The width of Kathy's mantel allows her to lay the garland on the mantel.

Everyday home decor is used in decorating this Christmas mantel. Battery operated candles create a warm glow.

Every day home decor like the candle sticks are reused in the mantel decorating. They add height and interest and coordinate with the color story. Wooden green Christmas trees adds a touch of whimsey!

Faux green garland is worked in and out of the decorations.

The rooster adds a pop of white, just like Santa's beard. a taller wooden Christmas tree balances the height.

The faux green garland is worked out towards the front of the mantel and back in behind the candle sticks and rooster, and trees.

Kathy places another Santa and whimsical tree to complete the mantel.

An additional Santa, whimsical Christmas tree and personalized stocking ornaments complete the look.

It's all about balance.

Santa pillows create a cozy spot to warm up by the fire!

Kathy continues to decorate the bookcases that flank her fireplace. Her Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus collection take a center stage. the blue and white vase is filled with sprigs of faux holly. A glass dish holds a holiday potpourri. The framed Antique Seed poster is from our granddads grocery store. Containers of potted faux poinsettias add a punch of red. Kathy shares a designer tip: fill the house with real red poinsettias and all the faux greenery and florals appear real!
